More about me
I decided to go into chemical engineering because of one of my favourite books, the Martian. While the main character is a mechanical engineer, I was really interested in the discussion of hydrogen fuel cells, chemical absorption, and thermodynamics. This interest continued after I job shadowed a Chemical Engineer and realized how many different fields there were for Chemical Engineers.
I graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. While at school, I volunteered with the Engineering Students' Society, Female Engineering Mentors, and Week of Welcome. Nowadays I have been involved with the Women In Engineering Summit, APEGA Science Olympics, and the WISE Mentorship Program. I have a passion for mentorship as I did not have any mentors growing up in a rural community and I'm hoping to help fill that place in someone else's life. I want to make sure that everyone feels included when joining the engineering faculty. In my spare time, I spend my time rock climbing, baking new recipes, beating escape rooms, and playing video games.
